Data and its limits
What this tool covers, where it can be wrong, and what it cannot tell you.
This is a snapshot, not a live feed
The dataset currently holds 265 circulars, the most recent dated 27/09/2026. It is parsed from the MSD index as it stood when the data was built, and it does not refresh automatically. A circular published after that build will not appear here. Always check the live index for the current position.
Where the data is incomplete
- 2 circulars carry no date on the source index and are listed without one here.
- 3 circulars have no PDF link on the index, so the underlying document cannot be opened from this site.
- Batch codes are extracted from the description text by pattern matching. Long or unusually worded descriptions may yield incomplete codes.
- The index is a summary. The full circular may name batches or products that the summary line does not.
What a no-match does not mean
Because batch codes here are pattern-extracted and the dataset is a snapshot, a miss here can be a false negative. If you have any doubt about a medicine or device, treat its absence from this site as no information at all, and have a pharmacist check it.
How to act on a result
- On a match: open the original circular via the PDF link on that record. The circular is the authoritative document; this site is a reader of it.
- On a no-match: check the batch with a licensed pharmacy. Do not stop taking a prescribed medicine on the basis of this site.
- To report a problem: contact the National Medicines Regulatory Authority, or the pharmacy or hospital where the product was supplied.
Source and independence
Single source: the MSD quality circular index. This project is unofficial. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Medical Supplies Division or the NMRA. If anything here conflicts with a circular published by the MSD, the circular governs.
